We’re always looking for simple ways to make a positive impact. And our recent biodiversity project is an example of how small actions can add up. The mini wildflower initiative was launched to help brighten up local green spaces and support wildlife in the process.
We handed out 40 wildflower seed bombs to our team, encouraging everyone to take them home and plant them in outdoor spaces nearby. Seed bombs are made from seeds, soil, and clay or paper, and require no gardening skills as you simply throw them on the ground and let nature to do the rest.
They’re a great way to bring life to neglected or hard-to-reach areas, with very little effort.
Wildflowers play a really important role in our ecosystem. As more green spaces are lost or reduced, it’s becoming harder for wildlife to find the food and habitats they need. Even small patches of wildflowers can help create mini ecosystems that support a wide range of species.
Pollinators like bees and butterflies rely on wildflowers for food, and in return, they help plants grow and reproduce. It’s a vital relationship that supports not just natural ecosystems, but also the food we eat every day.
This project is part of our wider commitment to sustainability. We know this won’t change the world! But we do believe that small, local initiatives can make a real difference over time. It’s also been a great way to get everyone involved and thinking about how we can all do our bit.
